Former Tyler Rogers has been selected to represent Team USA in the upcoming World Baseball Classic, adding another impressive milestone to his Major League career.
Rogers, who once wore the uniform of the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs during his path to professional baseball, has become one of the most recognizable submarine-style pitchers in the game. The 35-year-old right-hander recently signed a three-year, $37 million contract with the Toronto Blue Jays this past offseason.
A seven-year Major League veteran, Rogers began his career with the San Francisco Giants, where he spent the first six-plus seasons establishing himself as one of the most reliable bullpen arms in baseball. He finished last season with the New York Mets before heading into free agency.
Known for his unique submarine delivery and ability to keep hitters off balance, Rogers has built a reputation as one of the toughest relievers to square up in the game today.
