Former Mohawk Valley DiamondDawg Darin Horn has reached another major milestone in his baseball career, as the right-handed pitcher was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 16th round of the 2026 MLB Draft with the 465th overall pick.
Horn capped an outstanding career at Coastal Carolina by earning consensus All-America honors following one of the nation’s top relief seasons in 2026. The Bluffton, South Carolina native was named a Third Team All-American by Baseball America and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), while also earning Second Team All-America recognition from Perfect Game. He was also named First Team All-Sun Belt Conference.
During the 2026 season, Horn posted an 8-2 record with seven saves and a 3.21 ERA in 31 appearances out of the bullpen. He struck out 93 batters over 67.1 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .241 batting average.
Horn finished tied for second in the Sun Belt Conference in saves and became one of only two NCAA Division I pitchers in 2026 to record at least eight wins and seven saves.
Over five seasons at Coastal Carolina, Horn appeared in 88 games and compiled a 16-6 record with seven saves. He struck out 213 batters in 166.2 innings and helped the Chanticleers reach three NCAA Tournaments, including a trip to the 2025 Men’s College World Series.
Before his time at Coastal Carolina, Horn was a member of the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs, where he continued to develop as a pitcher and compete at a high level.
Now, his journey continues at the professional level with the Chicago White Sox.
