The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are pleased to announce the addition of Mason Steward to the team’s coaching staff for the upcoming season.

Currently serving as the graduate assistant hitting coach at the University of Dallas, Steward brings a strong background in offensive development and player instruction. He has built a reputation for working closely with hitters and collaborating with fellow coaches to help athletes perform at their highest level.

Steward will join Head Coach Steve Luby and Pitching Coach Joshua Ibarra on the DiamondDawgs coaching staff this summer.

A graduate of Guilderland High School and Hudson Valley Community College, Steward has deep roots within the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, having competed in the league during the 2020 season with the Albany Dutchmen.

Steward played for the Hudson Valley CC baseball program before transferring to the University of Tennessee to complete his degree in Sports Management. While at Tennessee, he worked with Prep Baseball, first at LakePoint in Atlanta and later with Prep Baseball Tennessee as an area scout and operations assistant. In that role, he covered high school games and showcase events while evaluating some of the top amateur players in the country.

He also gained valuable coaching experience as a member of the staff for Team Tennessee, working with elite players at both the Prep Baseball Futures Games and the Prep Baseball Junior Futures Games.

While pursuing a Master’s Degree in Leadership at the University of Dallas, Steward has helped build a strong culture of development with the program’s hitters. Under his guidance, the team’s offense has emerged as one of the top in its conference thus far during the 2026 season.

The DiamondDawgs look forward to the experience, energy, and player development Steward will bring to the organization this summer.
