LITTLE FALLS, NY — The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are excited to announce the signing of Erick Diaz, a sophomore outfielder from Dominican University, for the 2026 season.
Diaz arrived at the collegiate level ranked as the No. 2 outfielder in New York State and the No. 170 outfielder in the nation coming out of high school. He more than lived up to that billing in his first season at the Division II level.
In a standout freshman campaign, Diaz hit .387 with 10 home runs, 57 RBIs, 74 runs scored, and 24 stolen bases, producing one of the most complete offensive seasons in Division II baseball.
His performance earned him Division II All-American honors along with multiple regional and conference accolades, including:
• ABCA East Region All-Defensive Team
• ABCA/Rawlings East All-Region First Team
• NCBWA All-East Region First Team
• D2CCA All-East Region First Team
• All-Conference First Team
Diaz’s combination of offensive production, speed, and defensive excellence makes him a great addition to the DiamondDawgs’ 2026 roster.
Please join us in welcoming Erick to the DiamondDawgs family!
