LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are proud to announce that catcher Joe Crenshaw (University of Richmond) has been named the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) East Division Player of the Week, recognizing his outstanding performance during the opening week of the 2026 season.
Crenshaw has been a driving force behind Mohawk Valley’s hot start, helping the DiamondDawgs to a 6-2 record and first place in the East Division. Through his first six games, he has been one of the league’s most productive hitters, posting a remarkable .600 batting average with 12 hits, two doubles, three home runs, and 11 RBIs.
The University of Richmond standout has also reached base at an impressive .667 clip while compiling a 1.150 slugging percentage, ranking among the league leaders in both categories. Crenshaw enters the week riding a four-game multi-hit streak, highlighted by a dominant performance against Saugerties on June 2, when he blasted two home runs and drove in six runs in a 21-11 DiamondDawgs victory.
“Joe has been outstanding from day one,” said the DiamondDawgs coaching staff. “His leadership behind the plate and his production in the batter’s box have been instrumental to our early success. We’re excited to see him receive this well-deserved recognition.”
The Player of the Week award is the first presented by the PGCBL during the 2026 season and recognizes the top performer based on statistics accumulated since Opening Day.
